My idea for this project is to do self-portraits of myself. I am picking weird photos of me that I have while also using my own pictures for compositing. I am just gonna make a bunch and pick my favorites
I like the second image you have and if you take that route I look forward to seeing how you can combine figure and flora. I also think it could be valuable to keep working with the mark-making textures which you've developed in the first image--the way you've combined them reminds me of tattoos which is really cool.
Im really interested to see what kind of imagery and photoshop tools you can use to suggest the appearance of your facial structure and i think it would be cool to potentially stylize it to reflect your personal artistic style.
I think you can get some really interesting organic forms with this project, are you planning on printing multiple solutions as a series or just one final?
This sounds like it'll be really cool. I'm all for morphing/ abstracting bodies into other things. How abstract do you wanna get with it? Do you want us to be able to distinguish where you end and the other image starts?
Interesting ideas. So far I am really enjoying the abstracted qualities of the work. Maybe zoom in and use forms that aren't immediately identifiable to give an added layer of mystery to the project. Looking great so far!
Unique portrait pictures with original drawings is a great way to make a really personal piece that you can be objectively aesthetically pleasing to those who don't know you.

ReplyDeleteI can see this getting really abstract and interesting. I wouldn't be afraid to make the portrait aspect abstract either
ReplyDeleteYour third and second image are really interesting visually! I would love to see what additions and transformations they take on with more work
ReplyDeletei like the integration of your work so it's like your paintings become masks.
ReplyDeleteI love the art nouvea feeling that this gives off, but you're putting your own twist on it!
